Patient Care Considerations for the Austere Environment

March 31, 2023

This training is a comprehensive review of hypothermia, trauma activation protocols per Centura Health PreHospital Services and avalanche triage and resuscitation. These topics combined form a review of patient care considerations for the austere environment - at 12,000 ft above sea level in the winter months. Hands-on practice with a hypowrap to treat/prevent hypothermia. More hands-on and comprehensive incorporation of these topics to follow in a multidisciplinary training. Knowledge check with 80% or better score on an online quiz made available through the end of March. Instructor available for questions by email 7 days/week, or in person 4 days/week
