Fentanyl Education and Narcan
Summit County Department of Public Health is working to raise awareness of the rise in fentanyl overdose in the county. The goal of this training was to educate CMSP staff members about how to properly treat a person who has overdosed on opiates, and the benefits of early Narcan administration and how to properly use an intranasal Narcan kit.
-Spread awareness of current trends in illegal Fentanyl and opioid overdoes rates
-Educate staff on signs and symptoms of opioid overdose and how fentanyl OD differs from heroin OD
-Inform staff members of the benefits of early Narcan administration and how to properly use an intranasal Narcan kit.
